GOLDEN STATE BRITISH BRASS BAND
Jack Hollander, Director

Program to be announced...

Golden State British Brass Band The Golden State British Brass Band was organized in 1995 by a group of local musicians, drawn together by the elegant sounds and broad repertoire of the brass ensemble, popular in Great Britain but relatively unknown in the United States.  The band has performed in concerts throughout Southern California and for the California Music Educators Association.  Special performances are presented to students in area schools each year.  The Band has also appeared at Disneyland, the Nixon Library, and the annual Queen's Birthday Ball for several years.  We are pleased to bring this special musical genre to you.

Jack Hollander Mr. Jack Hollander currently teaches at El Toro High School in the Saddleback Unified School Ditrict.  He has a distinguished record as a teacher and music director at high school and college levels.  While earning his music degrees at UCLA he was appointed teaching assistant for bands.  He has presented professional clinics for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, for whom he is also an active adjudicator and clinician at festivals and competitions, as well as having served as a board member.  He has also conducted school honor bands throughout Southern California.  He joined the GSBBB as a cornetist, was later appointed Assiant Conductor, and finally Music Director in 2007.  In the Summer of 2008 he attended the International Brass Band Summer School at Swansea University in Wales, UK, where he studied the heritage, traditions, literature, and musical styles of the British Brass Band.
